Posee un tallo caulinar que se va lignificando a medida que el ejemplar crece y se desarrolla. Las hojas se disponen de manera alterna, tienen forma oval y un grosor considerable.<br>Las inflorescencias tienen un gran valor ornamental, y es lo que hace que esta planta sea tan popular. La flor se llama esp\u00e1dice y suele ser de colores rojizos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Caracter\u00edsticas:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Es una planta de interior f\u00e1cil de cultivar. Lo \u00fanico que s\u00ed que hay que tener en cuenta es que es exigente en cuanto a humedad ambiental ya que es una planta que procede de la selva tropical colombiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>Flores:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Las inflorescencias est\u00e1n compuestas por un esp\u00e1dice y por una espata. Los esp\u00e1dices tienen una gran cantidad de puntitos blancos y, cada puntito, se trata de una flor. La suma de todos esos puntitos de flor es lo que crea la inflorescencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>Fruto:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Una vez fecundadas, sus frutos se muestran como una especie de protuberancias de aspecto verrugoso sobre el esp\u00e1dice. En realidad son unas bayas globulosas de color amarillo o rojo, conteniendo tan s\u00f3lo una o dos semillas peque\u00f1as de color amarillo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>Usos:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Planta muy popular para su uso en interiores, en combinaci\u00f3n con otras plantas.
